My (long, hot) Italian Summer

When: 7.00pm - 8.30pm Monday 26 November

Where: YHA Blue Mountains 207 Katoomba St

Cost: Gold coin donation to Slow Food

Horticulturist Victoria Walker abandoned her city life and job in urban farming to take an adventure into living and working on the 'real' farms of Italy.

Three months spent in rural areas of Umbria and Tuscany during one of Italy's hottest summers, Victoria experienced growing, preserving, cooking and eating with some local families.

This talk explores Victoria's adventures and examine's Italy's food culture through rural towns, food markets, 'agrotourism', animal husbandry and also the marketing and distribution of locally produced foods.

Come and meander through Italy's countryside and feel the sweat on your brow.
